Later with Jools Holland

So... what have Sal been up to this year you ask? well it may seem quite to you but behind the scenes it's all been happening.  We've been writing songs and lyrics for the new album, exciting in itself, but also Cat was on Jools Holland's 250th Anniversary show with The Manic Street Preachers! woo hoo. Our girl arranged vocals for 4 of the tracks on the new number 1 album 'Postcards from a Young Man'. Check out 'Some Kind of Nothingness' Here and the title track Here Look out for the Official Charts tonight, here's to 'Postcards..' being Number 1.

Rhondda Sound Beach Party!

Hello Friends of Sal,

We haven't had a chance to post an update in a while, but we thought it's time we did and let you know what's going on at the Sal camp :)

Firstly I want to mention our awesome gig at The Green Rooms in Treforest last Friday. We've never played there before and it was a great place, if you haven't been there yet you should go along. It was quite a surreal night as we played to the same audience many years ago when we released the first album and did a tour of schools in the valleys. There was one school where it all went horribly wrong. Picture the scene....
The school had set out chairs for all the kids to sit down to watch the gig, now as you know we're not a 'sit down and watch' band, so before you know it chairs were being flung aside and swarms of kids were moshing like crazy! ha ha. Anyway....we had this great Sal graffiti wall at the time, a way for everyone to be a part of the tour and sign and get their messages on it. So....a great idea, or so we thought at the time, turned out to be a very bad move!  As the moshers were jumping, headbanging, diving, twirling, flying all over the place, the wall comes tumbling down! argggggghhhhhhhh, I'll never forget the moment. Someone landed under it, oh no. All the teachers came running over, there was shouting and panic, but rest assured folks, nobody was hurt. But we went down in history in that school.
Back to present day at The Green Rooms, these kids are now grown up and off to university and remembered us and the whole day. Ah, Awesome!

I have more news coming up....
